Sinopsis
Frank Goode tinggal sendiri di Elmira, New York, seorang yg baru saja ditinggal meinggal istrinya yg memiliki masalah jantung, pensiun dari pekerjaan pabriknya, bangga memilik anak yg sukses semua.
Pada musim panas, keempat anaknya urung berkunjung dalam rangka reunian, dan dengan melanggar keputusan dokternya, Frank memutuskan utk memberikan kejutan dimasing-masing kunjungannya.

Dia pergi utk menemui anak senimannya di New York City, dan putrinya yg seorang agensi periklanan diChicago, putranya yg seorang dirigen dalam tur dan tinggal di Denver, serta putrinya yg seorang penari di Vegas.
Tidak ada yg ia bayangkan atau harapkan. Akankah mereka menunjukkan padanya diri mereka yg sebenarnya, dan bisakah ayah ini menyesuaikan dirinya?
